The Capricorn Singers

Super proud to announce that last night yours truly officially became a member of The Capricorn Singers, the local women's choir. I'm an alto (lower female voice) and I'm really enjoying it - everyone's so friendly! I've been going for a few weeks and I'm already starting to get the hang of some songs, which isn't easy when hardly any of it is the melody! We do some awesome songs, like May It Be from Lord of the Rings and Annie's Song by John Denver, so it's quite a mix. If you live near Blackpool in England, you should definitely come to one of our concerts - dates are available on www.thecapricornsingers.org
I feel like I ought to sign off on these posts, it seems a bit more finished...

Kind people

Had a good morning - I was helping out at our shop when one of the regular customers came in to check on his printing and talk to my brother about a concert the man is organising that my brother is going to be drumming in. He's spent ages organising to have a lemon cake at the afternoon tea before the concert because it's my Dad's favourite cake, and this morning he bought us each a slice of courting cake from the bakery round the corner! Some people are so nice!

Big Hero 6

I took my younger brother to see Disney/Marvel's Big Hero 6 today, because we live near a Vue Cinema and they do this awesome deal where, once a kid's film has stopped being shown, they will show it again for a short period - normally only one weekend, but it's all week in the holidays - for £1.99 (about $3).
I would definitely recommend you see this film at some point. For anyone who doesn't know, it's about a teenage boy who loves robotics, and forms a team of heroes with the help of a robot called Baymax.
The animation of it is absolutely stunning - similar in style to the more recent Disney films such as Tangled and Frozen, which means that everything is amazingly detailed.
The story is great too - it shows how a tragic event isn't the end of everything, and how important friendship is. It's the right amount of sadness (I cried this time) but with plenty more laughs!
For the people who claim they're too old for Disney, don't forget that this is based on a Marvel story! Though the idea of super teenagers may seem childish and overused, there are some very modern and grown-up themes. I didn't notice the first time I watched it, but when Hiro is nervous GoGo tells him to "woman up", for one thing.
So yeah, if you haven't seen this then please do, you won't regret it!
If you have, feel free to fangirl with me! :D
Oh, and don't forget to wait for the after-credit scene!

A Cappella

Feeling awesome! I did some more revision today, and while I was doing it I was listening to a load of a cappella stuff, including Peter Hollens. I started thinking about whether I could organise some a cappella stuff for the youth theatre group I go to (Phoenix Youth Theatre). I ended up messaging Peter's Facebook page, and I've now managed to organise getting some sheet music! Yay!

Cosplay Con

Had the most AMAZING day ever at Cosplay Con! Everyone was really friendly! The event organisation wasn't brilliant but hey ho... And oh my goodness the costumes! We met two other Winchesters before we'd even reached the main hall! It was so cool and I can't wait to go to another one, I'll post photos later :)

Super excited!

Hey guys! Did anyone get pranked for April Fool's Day? Luckily I didn't :D I'm super excited today because it's a Bank Holiday, which means I get to spend the afternoon introducing my family to the wonders of Supernatural before we go to the local Cosplay Con tomorrow! If I can, I'll post some photos for you all! Just out of curiosity, have any of you been to a ComicCon? This is my first...
